Altair Semiconductor chipsets will power a new set of LTE modules that will help businesses lower costs and improve device performance for a broad range of Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Altair, a leading provider of LTE chipsets, announced that its FourGee-1160 chipset powers the M14A2A IoT module manufactured by Wistron NeWeb Corp. (WNC) that is certified to run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network.
The module supports LTE Cat-1 connectivity and will support the newer Cat-M1 standard via a Firmware Over The Air (FoTA) upgrade. The CAT-M1 standard is designed to boost module performance for IoT applications, offering enhanced covertoage and extended battery life.

The FourGee-1160 is an industry leader in LTE CAT-1 solutions for power consumption and features, and will be the first to offer upgradability to CAT-M1.
