Ayla Networks, a global Internet of Things (IoT) platform for manufacturers, announced a strategic partnership with Hampton Products International, a leading innovator of security hardware and accessory products, that provides cloud connectivity and digital encryption for Hampton’s new IoT Wi-Fi-connected door lock.
Ayla’s technology enabled Hampton to add cloud connectivity to its forthcoming Brink’s Home Security Array™ digital deadbolt, creating a connected digital door lock that works with smartphones via Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. Array is among the first digital door locks to use built-in Wi-Fi, connecting directly to a homeowner’s router and bypassing hubs, making it one of the most consumer-friendly Smart Home lock products available.
Ayla’s IoT platform encompasses a comprehensive, end-to-end approach to security covering the physical, cloud and software levels. Ayla IoT platform security includes data encryption, two-step authentication, secure multi-tenancy and enterprise-class cloud architecture security.
“As a hardware company, our engineers are experts in crafting highly secure mechanical locks,” said Jim Hartung, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Hampton Products International. “We needed a technology partner that could provide a proven, robust IoT architecture to connect Array to the cloud with 100% reliability. Ayla helps us ensure that the data transmitted between the door lock and the cloud are safeguarded by employing the latest security protocols and encryption. Because we’re safeguarding our users’ most important assets—their homes—every element of the product from the lock itself to the wireless connection needs to be secure.”
Hampton product designers worked with IoT experts from Ayla Networks to build a user-friendly and highly functional cloud connection for the Array digital deadbolt.
“Hampton represents today’s forward-thinking manufacturers that understand the transformational potential of the IoT and that are looking to Ayla to simplify their path to connectivity,” said David Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Ayla Networks. “Ayla’s IoT platform allows manufacturers such as Hampton to get secure, reliable connected products to market with minimal time, cost and effort.”
The Ayla IoT platform provides comprehensive device, cloud and mobile app connectivity for any kind of product. In addition to speeding and simplifying the creation of secure, reliable connected products, Ayla allows manufacturers to improve multiple aspects of their business based on the real-world knowledge gained from data generated by the connected devices.
