The Business Performance Innovation (BPI) Network, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council and Penton’s IoT Institute announced they are collaborating on a global thought leader initiative to benchmark where and how companies are deriving business value and creating competitive advantage from adoption and use of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
The program, entitled “The Impact of Connectedness on Competitiveness,” will engage a global audience of executives across diverse industries to better define how decision makers plan to leverage IIoT technologies and applications to improve operational and business outcomes, including delivering new customer experiences; reducing risk; maximizing uptime, safety, and comfort; increasing output; and furthering efficiencies and cost reductions.
The BPI Network, CMO Council and IoT Institute will team with sponsoring IoT brands to develop both quantitative and qualitative insights, as well as online and face-to-face dialogues with enterprise decision makers. More information about the program is available at http://www.bpinetwork.org/industrial-connectedness-initiative.
The program will map and model where and how connected systems, embedded sensors and real-time data streams are contributing to greater situational awareness, predictive troubleshooting, operational alignment, business continuity, supply chain performance, and industrial productivity. It will gather insights from a wide variety of industries being impacted by IIoT technologies, including manufacturers, plant and utility operators, oil refiners, infrastructure managers, food growers and processors, aerospace, automotive, transportation and more.
The CMO Council and BPI Network are exclusive knowledge exchange and executive networking organizations reaching more than 200,000 decision makers and have affiliates and content syndication partners that reach some 75 million business buyers. Penton IoT Institute is a new online community, live events and research brand within Penton, an information services and media company that empowers nearly 20 million business decision makers in markets that drive more than 12 trillion dollars in purchases each year.
“Our recent studies show that executives now believe the Internet of Things is one of the three most strategic technology areas for enterprise investment and innovation,” said Donovan Neale-May, executive director of the BPI Network and the CMO Council. “We’re very pleased to team with Penton and its new IoT Institute to explore this important subject. We hope to substantiate the premise that enterprise connectedness with and among strategic audiences can impact a company’s ability to compete more effectively and produce greater business value.”
“Penton founded the IoT Institute to deliver critical information and insights about this fast-emerging technology realm to our comprehensive audience of decision makers across manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, aviation & aerospace, energy, public infrastructure and other industries,” said Will Wise, Managing Director of the IoT Institute. “We’re looking forward to collaborating with the BPI Network and CMO Council to further understand where companies are in their IIoT journey and what obstacles they need to overcome to drive greater business value and competitiveness.”
