Parks Associates announced results for its landmark consumer research project Connected Consumer in Europe, which surveyed broadband households in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and France to track adoption and future purchase plans of IoT, smart home, and connected entertainment solutions. The project found that approximately 9% of these Western European broadband households own at least one smart home device and 57% own at least one Internet-connected CE device.
“Service providers and OEMs continue to introduce new offerings in Europe, bringing new value propositions and driving increased adoption and future purchase intentions of smart home and connected CE devices,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “Currently 45% of broadband households in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and France have a smart TV. Regarding future purchases, 33% of these broadband households plan to purchase a smart home device in the next 12 months.”
Parks Associates will discuss its worldwide research and its implications at the tenth-annual CONNECTIONS™ Summit: IoT, Entertainment, and the Connected Consumer on 6-7 January at CES® 2016 in Las Vegas, NV.
