Ayla Networks announced that it is working in partnership with Dimplex North America to incorporate Ayla IoT technology into Dimplex electric heating products.
“Dimplex is a company built on the premise of ‘better solutions through innovation,’ and we recognized that an IoT-connected approach would let us innovate and iterate faster and more efficiently,” said Scott Ringler, vice president of marketing and product development for Dimplex. “What Ayla provides in its IoT platform is a fast track to move our innovation ideas to fully formed, production-ready solutions.”
“Ayla and Dimplex are working together to create and launch a connected gateway for the control of electric smart heaters in commercial and residential markets, which will be connected through the Ayla Networks cloud service,” said David Friedman, CEO, co-founder of Ayla Networks. “By using the Ayla software agent, Dimplex products will automatically and securely connect to the Ayla cloud service, enabling Dimplex to collect data from the electric heaters and giving customers enhanced remote management of their heaters’ operation.”
The Ayla agile IoT platform provides comprehensive device, cloud and mobile app connectivity for any kind of product. Ayla allows manufacturers to get secure, reliable connected products to market with minimal time, cost and effort—and to improve multiple aspects of their business based on the real-world knowledge gained from data generated by the connected devices.
Dimplex North America Limited, the world leader in electronic heating, is known for innovations such as its patented electric flame technology. Dimplex is using Ayla technology first for its Dimplex CONNEXTM product family, which includes convection and fan-forced electric wall heaters with programmable wireless control.
Ayla Agile Mobile Application Platform (AMAP) Speeds Mobile Control
Ayla’s recently announced Agile Mobile Application Platform (AMAP) lets manufacturers of connected products quickly and easily create mobile apps that control their products. Designed for IoT solutions using the Ayla cloud, AMAP provides the 85 percent of coding and development work common to any high-performing, reliable and secure IoT mobile app, in the form of vertical market-specific workflows.
In addition to leveraging the Ayla platform to provide cloud connectivity for its CONNEX products, Dimplex is also using Ayla’s AMAP technology to extend the CONNEX technology from Wi-Fi to mobile app control. As a result, people can control their Dimplex home heaters from anywhere in the world, using a mobile app.
