EyeLock will showcase Access Control solutions suitable for both outdoor and indoor use at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. EyeLock will also release its new embedded iris authentication solution “Harrington,” which has been recently integrated directly into ViaTouch’s ground-breaking Auto-Retail Vending Solution enabled by Artificial Intelligence. Both technologies will be on display within the VOXX International booth #13518.
EyeLock’s technology provides an unprecedented level of convenience and security with unmatched biometric accuracy, making it the most proven way to authenticate identity aside from DNA. EyeLock’s proprietary iris authentication technology looks at more than 240 unique iris characteristics and provides a fast, user-friendly authentication experience. This technology is easily embeddable into other technologies and is suitable for use in many market segments. While biometric modalities such as facial and fingerprint recognition are satisfactory for low to medium security applications, iris provides the highest level of security and convenience. Notable use cases for iris identification include, but are not limited to, enterprise, healthcare, financial services, education, corrections, stadiums, border control, automotive, government, and more.
EyeLock redefines the future of access control with the nanoNXT, a sleek, low profile point of entry iris-based recognition system with powerful capabilities. The nanoNXT authenticates up to 20 people per minute, in-motion and at-a-distance with unparalleled security. This solution is an ideal replacement for card-based systems and seamlessly controls access to secured entrances, server rooms and any physical space. In addition to the growing sales of the nanoNXT indoor access control system, Eyelock has recently developed the nanoEXT, a first-of-its-kind outdoor device, which can withstand extreme exterior elements and all lighting conditions including sunlight, while still providing unmatched security and convenience. This outdoor system is rated for operation in extreme temperatures, severe weather, and all levels of light. The device is also vandal-resistant and allows for accurate authentication at a standoff distance of 16-30 inches with instant height-adjusting capabilities to ensure ADA compliance.
“The addition of an outdoor unit to our platform speaks directly to customer; desires to implement a single convenient solution for managing outdoor and indoor access control as well as to those looking to upgrade their exterior access points using unmatched accuracy of iris biometrics,” said Jeff Carter, Chief Executive Officer, EyeLock.
Harrington, EyeLock’s embedded iris authentication solution is a self-contained, standalone iris enrollment and authentication system that is offered as a complete reference design. This solution is a superior combination of optical and algorithmic elements that enable absolute security and unmatched ease-of-use. Harrington includes off-the-shelf near-infrared illumination, a commercially available image sensor, and proprietary imager lens. This design is ideal for diverse markets and can be incorporated into multiple hardware applications such as nurse’s stations, high-end business machines, cash machines and data rooms. Harrington offers a rich variety of system interface topologies available to the end-user with three different image sensor lensing options that allow nominal working distances up to 60cm with imager module thickness between 3.0mm and 5.7mm. Dual iris enrollment and single- or dual- iris authentication is supported with software and algorithms that are portable to the OS used in the OEM device.
Through a previously announced strategic partnership, EyeLock’s Harrington board has been integrated into Vicki™, ViaTouch’s ground-breaking Auto-Retail Vending solution enabled by artificial intelligence that is designed to change the landscape of consumer purchasing in the most secure manner possible. Vicki recognizes and authenticates a consumer, gets to know their preferences and then acts upon them, serving as a virtual clerk. As Harrington is embedded into the machine, it will provide consumers with a cashless transaction that’s both easy and secure. Consumers and businesses will have an easy-to-use and fast experience, and will rest easy knowing their transactions are secure as the embedded technology is integrated and operable with First Data online payment networks.
Carter adds, “Many customers have found EyeLock’s technology to be an overarching security solution with a variety of applications even within a single vertical. In the medical space, for example, nanoEXT can secure exterior access to hospital employee entrances while nanoNXT can secure access to pharmacies, labs and operating rooms. When partnered with embedded iris biometric equipment, Harrington controls access to mobile nurse’s stations, medicine cabinets, and other equipment used for patient and/or employee identification, providing a fully integrated solution. Mobile nurse’s stations have typically utilized fingerprint and by moving to iris, they achieve a higher level of security with a touchless hygienic high-speed solution. Unlike other developing biometrics, EyeLock authentication can be completed without the requirement to remove eyewear, face masks and gloves.”
