Multi-Tech Systems, a leading provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) technology, today announced end device approval for its new HSPA+ MultiConnect® PCIe Mini Card cellular modem on the Aeris Communications network. Through the new Certificate of Approval, customers utilizing the Aeris network no longer have to bring their end products in for additional Aeris testing and are protected from the time, risk and expense of pursuing their own certification.

The MultiConnect® PCIe embedded cellular modem is a complete, ready-to-integrate communications modem that offers 3GPP standards-based hepta-band HSPA+ 21Mbps downlink performance. Optional GPS, Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® functionality provides maximum application flexibility in a highly integrated package. This quick-to-market communications device allows developers to add a variety of M2M communications technologies to products with a minimum of development time and expense. An embedded programmable gateway is also available for use with development of optional Bluetooth®/WiFi® The PCIe meets Aeris requirements for an operational production-quality end device and has passed their end device approval (GSM) procedure.
