Renesas Electronics America Inc., a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Verizon, and Arrow Electronics, announced their collaboration on the Renesas Synergy S7G2 IoT Enabler Kit, offering an easy-to-use, all-inclusive developers environment that reduces the barriers to entry for companies developing innovative new applications for the IoT. The 4G LTE CAT 1 IoT kit provides a complete end-to-end Internet of Things solution for IoT developers with wireless options, sensors, and example projects. Customers can leverage this comprehensive environment to quickly and easily progress from the development stages of evaluation through the prototyping and production stages.

“Internet of Things connectivity and design complexity is challenging to navigate whether you are an IoT startup or an enterprise integrating IoT into your infrastructure. Developed together with Verizon and Arrow, the Renesas Synergy S7G2 IoT Enabler Kit takes advantage of the Renesas Synergy Platform to address these pain points with a seamless path to the Internet of Things design,” said Semir Haddad, Director of Marketing, MCU and MPU Product Solutions, Renesas Electronics America. “We are excited to expand our collaboration with Verizon and Arrow to make connected cloud development more accessible to a growing IoT design community.”

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Renesas to help reduce the barriers for developers by providing a seamless, secure and reliable on-ramp to accelerate innovation through ThingSpace, our open development platform combined with our ubiquitous 4G LTE network.” said Warren Westrup, Director-Connected Solutions, Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

“Arrow is teaming up with Renesas and Verizon to help simplify the complexity of designing and deploying Internet of Things solutions. Arrow oversees one of the most complex IoT ecosystems in the world—everything from hardware, sensors and design to data analytics and even secure, sustainable end-of-life asset retirement. We’ve seen firsthand how simplifying the Internet of Things development is driving adoption and innovation,” said Murdoch Fitzgerald, vice president of semiconductor marketing at Arrow.

IoT Enabler Kit on the Road

As part of the companies’ commitment to ongoing embedded Internet of Things education, they are hosting a technical seminar series that will run from November 3, 2016 through March 1, 2017, with sessions in 17 cities across the U.S. and Canada. The seminar series provides in-person training sessions with Renesas, Arrow, and Verizon team members, including hands-on labs where attendees will learn how to use the sensors and wireless modules included in the kit, and how to use Verizon security credentials to connect securely to the Verizon CAT 1 network. Lab attendees will receive a complimentary S7G2 IoT Enabler Kit for use during the session.

The S7G2 IoT Enabler Kit is now available through Arrow and Verizon ThingSpace, priced at $450 per kit.
