“Building the Internet of Things (IoT)” is the theme for the third annual Sierra Wireless Innovation Summit (formerly known as Developer Day), to be held in Paris on June 17. The expanded event offers both business and technical tracks, providing real-world examples of IoT deployments from Sierra Wireless customers, demonstrations of IoT applications from developers working with Sierra Wireless technology, and hands-on training workshops with the company’s technical experts on the Legato™ Platform and AirVantage® Cloud.
Tony Fish, co-founder of Fab Lab London, will be featured as the keynote speaker for the one-day event. Tony Fish is a widely respected expert on innovation, entrepreneurship, digital trends, and early stage growth, having co-founded and sold a number of business over the last 25 years and authored several books. His latest venture, Fab Lab London, which was established in 2014, is a digital fabrication and rapid prototyping workspace focused on the Internet of Things.
Other highly anticipated sessions include:
- Philippe Guillemette, Chief Technology Officer at Sierra Wireless, with a vision of “The Future of IoT,” addressing industry and network trends that will influence how the ecosystem continues to develop and grow over the next several years
- Ashish Syal, Principal Engineer for Advanced Technology at Sierra Wireless, on open hardware and standardization for IoT innovation
- Real-world cases presented by Sierra Wireless customers and partners on their own deployments of connected parking meters, smart lighting systems, connected cars, video surveillance, waste management solutions, smart meters, and healthcare applications
- Tutorials and hands-on workshops in building IoT applications and connecting them through the cloud, including a presentation from Christever del Rosario, recent winner of the Element14 “In the Air” Design Challenge, on “Building a Real-Time Carbon Footprint Monitoring System.”
