Synapse Wireless, an Internet of Things (IoT) company specializing in providing software, hardware, and networking solutions to develop, deploy, and manage the “Things” in IoT, will be launching new feature sets to their wireless lighting control platform, SimplySNAP, at this year’s LightFair International Show to be held in San Diego, CA, April 25-28, 2016.
SimplySNAP is the premier on-site lighting solution that monitors and controls lighting installations from a mobile device without requiring an Internet connection. This innovative solution enables storage and display of power data, alarms and critical events for maintenance and troubleshooting. SimplySNAP takes energy savings to the next level by enabling the user to easily integrate sensors into their lighting control system with pre-defined behaviors, and partners with a wide selection of low voltage switches, photocells and occupancy sensors using Synapses’ existing line of DIM10 lighting controllers. This wireless control solution, when coupled with energy efficient lighting, can result in up to a 75% energy savings over lighting installations without controls and can be implemented for both indoor and outdoor applications, new or retrofit installs.
“We were looking for a simple lighting solution that enabled us to dim and control exterior lighting around our Civic Center, and at the same time reduce operational expense that was associated with our existing lights which were obsolete and inefficient,” said Randy Morris, General Services Director, City of Dothan, AL.
“SimplySNAP provided a reliable, economical solution that was easy to install, simple to manage and adaptable enough for us to expand into adjacent facilities when the time is right. The user interface allows for immediate status updates of our lights and we can make quick schedule changes whenever we need to from a mobile device.”
Additions to the latest SimplySNAP release include auto-discovery of controlled lights, which greatly simplifies the commissioning process. Users can also upload their own floorplan images or site drawings to create custom scenes for granular control. Synapse has also added a new member to the SS420 site-controller family, the SS450, which comes equipped with a cellular option, providing more network connectivity options to the user that doesn’t have local internet available and wants to access their installation remotely. In addition, SimplySNAP has made adding controls even simpler by introducing the TL5-B1 wireless lighting controller that is compatible with the ANSI C136.41 dimming-compliant receptacle.
“Implementing a control solution has become the standard when considering an energy efficient lighting installation. Many solutions in the market are cumbersome and complex, but our focus is to make our solutions user friendly and simple to use,” said Kathryn Caspar, Vice President & General Manager, Synapse Lighting Control Solutions.
“We’re not just another controls provider; we’re a technology company that has spent a lot of time alongside our customers learning how to develop something that eliminates common complexities. Our customers want something that is easy and flexible to expand, simple and fast to commission, and reliable and accessible at all times. With our recent release, we’ve achieved that, and much more.”
Synapse Lighting Control Solutions have been recognized in the past with several industry awards, including a 2015 Connected Home & Building Innovation Award, a 2015 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award, a 2015 Smart Machines Innovation Award, and most recently were awarded the Electrical Construction & Maintenance Product of the Year Award for 2015.
