TELUS continues to help Canadian businesses capitalize on the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) technology through a new partnership with Jasper, a global leader in IoT platforms. Canadian businesses can now easily launch, manage and monetize IoT services through the TELUS Control Centre, a purpose-built IoT service platform provided by Jasper.

The TELUS Control Centre simplifies the deployment and management of IoT services by offering automated device provisioning, real-time diagnostics, integrated billing, and deep reporting and cost-management features. The self-service platform manages the entire lifecycle of an IoT service, enabling companies to introduce new business models, go to market faster, and scale over time to meet market demand.

“As businesses continue to embrace IoT technology, we’re going to see millions of connected devices deployed in Canada within the next few years,” said Shawn Sanderson, TELUS’ vice-president of Internet of Things. “Through this partnership, we’re providing our customers with a market-leading solution to simplify their IoT operations, support rapid growth on a global scale and enable unparalleled visibility and control of their IoT business.”

IoT technology represents a significant opportunity for Canadian businesses, and the market is poised for growth. An IDC study commissioned by TELUS in 2014 revealed that only 13 per cent of Canadian businesses had deployed or budgeted for an IoT solution in 2014 , but that an additional 30 percent  are looking to deploy in the next two years. As Canadian businesses increasingly adopt IoT technology, the TELUS Control Centre will make it easier for them to tap into its potential to create innovative new services and generate entirely new revenue models.

“Companies across all industries are looking to leverage IoT to deliver connected services,” said Cindy Patterson, Chief Customer Officer at Jasper. “With the TELUS Control Centre, enterprises can quickly and easily deploy IoT services that increase value for their customers while introducing new, recurring revenue streams.”

The partnership with Jasper further demonstrates TELUS’ commitment to bringing the world’s best IoT technology to Canada. In December 2014, the company also launched the TELUS IoT Marketplace, an online portal that features some of the most innovative IoT solutions available in Canada.
