The Brillo project was announced by Google during 2015 and is aimed at low-power memory-constrained Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Along with Brillo, Google also introduced the Weave protocol used by Brillo devices to communicate with other devices across different platform versions and operating systems.

A versatile platform, the DART-6UL System-on-Module (SoM) provides a variety of interfaces and connectivity options – all packaged at an optimized power, size and cost. The latest addition of Brillo makes the DART-6UL an ideal solution for fast emerging applications in the IoT market.

The DART-6UL measures only 25mm x 50mm and consumes less than 5mA in suspend mode. It carries NXP/Freescale i.MX 6UltraLite ARM Cortex-A7™ processor up to 696MHz and a variety of interfaces, including a certified Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, dual Ethernet, dual USB and serial interfaces. In addition, the SoM supports industrial grade targeting embedded application requiring a wide temperature range.

The current Brillo software from Variscite is based upon Google Brillo M10 release and is available to use on all related DART-6UL platforms.

Availability and pricing:

The DART-6UL SoM and associated evaluation kits are available for order.

Price of DART-6UL starts at 27 USD for 1000 units.
