Whisker Labs CEO Robert Marshall has been selected as a featured panelist at the CES 2017 Parks Associates Connections Summit, which takes place January 5th, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marshall’s panel, “IoT Crossover: Smart Home, Entertainment, Appliances, Cars, and Energy,” examines the partnerships, business models and technology integration necessary to achieve the vision of an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart home.

While nearly 50% of U.S. broadband households plan to buy smart home device in the next 12 months, there will still be over 100 million U.S. households that do not have a single smart homes device by the end of 2016 according to Parks Associates. At CES 2017 Whisker Labs will unveil its approach to solving this market challenge, by demonstrating the world’s first do-it-yourself (“DIY”) home energy monitoring sensor that delivers accurate, real-time power usage and diagnostic information for each appliance in the home – without costly and complex professional installation.

“The prospect of one DIY sensor unlocking a trove of data and the full home potential of the IoT to diagnose the efficiency, health, and functioning of all major home appliances is a transformational idea,” said Bob Marshall, CEO of Whisker Labs. “At CES 2017, Whisker Labs looks forward to demonstrating how our breakthrough DIY device provides homeowners with energy intelligence to enhance savings, peace of mind and safety.”

In a recent announcement, parent company Earth Networks announced the establishment of a new division that will bring next generation energy intelligence technologies to market resultant of its acquisition of Whisker Labs, an Oakland, CA based startup which develops breakthrough energy sensing hardware and software infrastructure. Maintaining the Whisker Labs name, the division will leverage Earth Networks’ proprietary weather datasets, patented energy efficiency algorithms that correlate indoor to outdoor conditions, predictive energy analytics, and integration with the growing ecosystem of smart home devices.
