LTE for IoT chipmaker Sequans Communications announced that Wivity Inc. has chosen Sequans’ Calliope LTE Cat 1 chipset platform to power its swappable LTE modems for industrial IoT. The Wivity platform enables IoT and M2M devices to connect to any wireless network in the world using interchangeable wireless modems.

Wivity is using Sequans’ Calliope LTE Platform, an-IoT-optimized chipset solution designed specifically for LTE Cat 1 applications such as smart meters, home automation solutions and the industrial IoT. Calliope comprises baseband and RF, an integrated IoT applications processor running Sequans’ carrier-proven LTE protocol stack, an IMS client, and a comprehensive software package for over-the-air device management and packet routing.
